[How To] close more deals: the silence technique

I've worked with over 250+ Photo Booth owners and by far the biggest hurdle people face after they start getting leads is turning the leads into bookings. This simple tactic can help you boost your booking rate by 32% (yes, it's actually proven!).

The problem: people get on the phone with prospects, talk about their packages, randomly drop prices, then immediately jump back in explaining additional details... Conversation usually ends with - "send me a proposal", "let me talk to my wife" etc..

How to fix it: use silence

Your prospect's brain needs 6-8 seconds to process a decision. When you talk during that time, you interrupt their buying process. It's like hitting reset on their mental math (plus you increase the time to buy). Columbia Business School research shows that purchases increase by 32% when salespeople extend that silence to 8+ seconds.

How to do it:

  1. Pitch your package

  2. Drop the price

  3. Shut up

  4. Wait until the prospect speaks (yes, it may feel like eternity)
