Too many "new" photo booth owners charge too little for their services, because they are "new". And despite that they get very few bookings. No surprise. That's because the only thing that separates them from others is - "the price". They typically look around at what everyone else charges, and offer a little more, for a little less. This is silly. 1) Because you should charge off value, not your competitors. 2) Most of your competitors are broke. So don’t copy them.

Why this is bad: when you charge too low, at the end of the month you don't have anything left to invest into the business. No marketing, no people, no better service. The economics of the business are broken from the beginning.

How to fix it: charge premium

"NEW" photo booth owners have one key advantage - you are still small. Meaning, you have full control over the experience you can provide. Make it unique, custom, luxury and awesome (much more difficult to do when you have 100 attendants and 50+ locations...).

Why is this better:

You work with fewer but better customers
You generate amazing reviews and content
You can separate yourself from the competition (easier sell)
Your business is profitable - you can invest into better marketing, better service, better equipment, happier clients. Business thrives.

Pro tip: there's always a limit how much you can drop your prices (until you reach 0) but there's no limit on the way up. When people hear your price, you want them to pause and think - "why is that so much more expensive than everything else? It must be that much better!"
